High-definition
TV is a revolution in television-watching on the scale of colour
TV vs. black & white. It's that different. From a
technical perspective, it provides up to 1080 lines of horizontal
resolution, versus 480 for regular TV. Add to that six times
as much sharpness, and HDTV can be like you're looking out a
window - the quality difference is simply that stunning.
Compton passes through the full HD
signal from the signal supplier - we
do not compress or otherwise
interfere with the signal.
That means you get the best quality,
unlike that available on satellite,
where a degraded signal is passed
off as some sort of attractive
feature. Translation: Bell's
attempt to save bandwidth by using
720p instead of 1080i isn't a
benefit to the customer.

To get HDTV, you need a television capable of displaying 1080i
or 720p formats (480p isn't really HDTV). You'll also need
a set-top digital terminal from us, such as the DCT3416 or
DCT6200, to process and output the signals.
